Where are all the coffees in capsules, coffeebeans, pods, grounded coffee… ?
Everything is made in Meyrin, Geneva. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, Trottet Coffees sublimate fine wines by artisanal roasting.

Where can I find Trottet products?
We only sell to the end customer, so we only work from our Meyrin shop, and through our website.

Why are some coffee packages puffed up ?

Once the coffee is packaged, a dose of nitrogen is added to protect the coffees from oxidation, and to ensure efficient preservation. However, the carbon dioxide which is released from the beans during roasting will continue to be released in the bag. It is then the degassing valve (one-way) that will allow the carbon dioxide to escape, blocking the entry of oxygen.

What is the "little button" on coffee packages?

This is a so-called "one-way" degassing valve that allows the coffee gas (once roasted) to exit the packet of coffee, blocking the entry of oxygen. The degassing valve keeps the coffee, aromas and taste in the long term.

What is the level of caffeine in coffee?

Arabica coffee is composed of 1.2% caffeine, while robusta holds 2.4%.

How are roasting fumes (in the air) managed?

We recently modernized our roasting and changed our catalyst. It allows us to save 15% energy, while transforming the fumes into water, for cleaner and more sustainable fumes.

Can we consume a coffee with an expiration date passed?

If the package has not been opened or punctured, it is possible to consume your coffee after the expiry date. As the coffee has not suffered from oxidation, it is edible. However, over time, the coffee breaks down into aromas.

How do we roast our coffees?

We are 100% natural gas powered.

What are coffee packaging made of?

Our packaging is made of polyethylene for welding. An aluminum layer is added to play a protective role (anti oxidation and degradation of coffee). A last layer of polyester comes to play the role for the shine of the bag. Our coffee bags come from WIPF, a Swiss partner for 70 years.

Why should we protect green coffees?

Bags of green coffee are very sensitive and have a strong fear of humidity and bad smells. They should be stored away from light. This is why our roasting workshop has a green coffee cellar, 7 meters underground, to store all our varieties. This not only keeps our green coffees away from moisture and light, but also ensures stable temperature and hydrometry all year round.

What is the grind of choice?

On each coffee beans, it is possible to choose a personalized grind from 7 different grinds. The coffees are not available in pre-grinds, as they are ground on demand, just before being shipped to the Customer.

How are the coffees that I choose with personalized grinding managed?

When you choose a coffee beans with a custom grind, it will be ground and sealed just before shipping. This allows us to guarantee you optimal conservation of the ground coffee, until it is received at your home.
